E-Lecture Series: Entrepreneurship<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u00a0The successful transfer of scientific knowledge and technological developments to the economy is of increasing importance for Austrian universities. Technology-oriented and knowledge-based spin-offs play an important role in this process. In the frame of the sub-project \u201cBiomedical Sciences\u201d of the Knowledge Transfer Centre West, the Management Center Innsbruck and the Medical University of Innsbruck have produced a new e-lecture series with the aim of introducing students and researchers to technology transfer and entrepreneurship. The series consists of four 30 minutes long modules in English. Each module consists of six videos. Whereas the modules \u201eEntrepreneurship\u201c, \u201eBusiness Model\u201c , \u201eIntellectual Property\u201c and \u201cFinance Fundamentals\u201d are devoted to general topics, the module \u201eRegulatory Requirement for Medical Devices\u201c highlights the challenges encountered by spin-offs in the field of medical technology:<\/p>\n

E-Lecture Series Finance Fundamentals\u00a0 \/ Claus Schulte<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This E-Lecture Series is consisting of 5 micro lectureswhere Dr. Claus Schulte, project manager at Ascenion (Germany), talks about the different financing options for companies and startups. The contents embrace source of fundings, company evaluation, capitalization table, down rounds and anti-dilution provisions and liquidation preferences. <\/em><\/p>\n

This E-Lecture Series is consisting of 5 micro lectures in which Bernd Ebersberger, Professor for innovation and entrepreneurship at MCI (Austria), gives an overview of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, as well as the role of innovation in the context of entrepreneurship. While presenting the most important characteristics of an entrepreneur, entrepreneurship is also highlighted as a team sport. Finally, by guiding through the steps it takes to start up your own business, failure is introduced as an option to learn from.<\/em><\/p>\n
